oh shoes!

Today I got out of work at 2, it was a miracle that they scheduled me at that time.
Then on top of that I decided to clean/clear out my closet?!
That's one of my least favorite things to do.. It is sooo time consuming!

Anyhow, I was looking at all my wonderful shoes and decided that it might be time to pass them along.
I don't wear a lot of them very often and they might make someone else happy. I really don't need a heel surplus.

Here are some of the keepers--my faithful ladies.

 pink ladies:
worthington flower print, leopard wedge (they say drop dead on the heel!) and my candies rose glitter
business ladies:
gianni bini suede and stud, vintage shoes-black satin, fabulaire grey snake
funky ladies:
boutique multicolor kittens, hot topic studded wedge
chic ladies:
guess stud ruffle kittens, red buckle slingbacks
my go to ladies:
target rhinestone wedge

what can I say? I love shoes ;)

high apple pie in the sky hopes..

That's right.

Here are pictures of how I would of spent my day in my "dream home".

waking up in this bed
eating breakfast in this kitchen
sitting out on this porch
being cozy in this living room
getting squeaky clean in this bathroom
eat dinner and finish my day out here

Thank you Libby Grantham for the cute blog idea.

It's on my "to see" list.

I really want to see Water For Elephants.
I believe the movie is set in between the 1920's and 1930's which is great. I love everything about the fashion during that time.

Fashion tangent anybody?

Menswear for women with girly accessories was a big deal. I can't argue with that, I want to be just as comfy as the boys and still look sweet!

This is how I would do that fashion for right now.

beaded and embellished blouses
slouchy trouser
cute sneeks or flats
and if you are feeling daring enough.. throw a cute turban or scarf up top.

The fashion tangent has now been concluded.

I love when movies are just like this one here. The costumes, characters and story all seem like something I can be involved with for a few hours.

Lastly, (excuse my twi-geekyness) but I kind of adore Edward Cullen. Tease me if you want.

can't stand the heat?

Get some shorts on!
The weather is heating up and its time to stuff your jeans back in the dresser. I, for one, am all about the shorts. I wear them up until the latest part of the year, right before winter. Now that the "winter" weather is behind and spring is here it's time for shorts. I am choosing to forgo the standard denim this season.. shorts with a cute detail (prints, bows or gathering are all great) can be paired with basically any top, so dress them up or down.

Here are some of my favorite finds:)

anthropologie silk crepe

kain label striped drawstring
cynthia rowley sequined evening

mara hoffman electric garden
rachel antonoff wear your heart

These are just a few of the beautiful shorts I saw.. I am sure there will be more!

lauren presents: the best place ever--camp zephyr

This weekend I had the chance to make my way up to Zephyr for a work weekend, and boy was it work! I had it in my mind to barrage the multitudes with beautiful photos of lovely Camp Zephyr, but I quickly got caught up in the amount of work the staff needed to do.

I did, however, manage to take a few photos! enjoy :)

                                                                  one way to zephyr!
don't forget the music..
a few cds later and we are seeing signs for lagarto.. hooray:)
FM 3162 stuck behind a bus--but the sky is looking big, blue, and beautiful.
in about 20 minutes time, the gates, at last!
*sigh*
more camp beauty
**double sigh**

There is more to Camp Zephyr than green grass and full, beautiful trees. It's a place for lots of fun, making friends, and hanging with fellow Christians. Myself, and plenty of others, have the Lord to thank for the blessing of Zephyr.

If you have not been and would be interested in it here is a link to the website.
Take a look around the site and see what the camp has to offer you.

Also, be sure to become a fan of Camp Zephyr on Facebook!
By becoming a fan you will be able to see updates from camp (i.e. groups that visit, renovations, and of course the gorgeous campus.)

little miss newbie

I have been on the fence about starting a blog for a long time. I always see so many blog posts that are ahh-mazing and I always ending up thinking to myself.. "Gosh, I don't think I am that cool."
But I am going to take a shot at it..

As of late, I have been extremely consumed with my mom's 49th birthday party that we will be hosting next Saturday at our house. It's exciting, because we (I mean my brothers and I) are now old enough to create a party for her, just the way she does for us. So we (and this time I mean mostly me) have been working tirelessly on decorations for her party! We aren't planning on making it a huge affair, mostly family will attend. However, I was in the mood to amp up the party in a special way for a very special lady!

For her birthday festivities, my mom was longing for animal prints.
Here is a sneak peek of the jungle fabulosity, brewing in the January household.

metallic tissue paper pom poms, decorative ribbon chandeliers, animal print invites and envelope seals are all an order for my momma's birthday bash!

My brothers, father and I are all planning on making this party an event she won't forget :)

and maybe we can even get her into a pair of these
maybe not..
